TCL Goes Global with the P7L TV, Introducing an AI Gaming Agent for Smarter Play

TCL is getting ready to roll out a new mid-range screen for shoppers who want a modern 4K TV without paying flagship prices. The TCL P7L Premium QLED TV has now been confirmed for a global release, and it’s appearing alongside the higher-tier P8L Premium QD-Mini LED TV. Based on the naming and positioning, the P7L is expected to be the more affordable option in the pair, while still offering many of the features buyers look for in a living-room upgrade.

To cover different room sizes and budgets, the TCL P7L will be sold in six screen sizes: 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch. That range makes it suitable for everything from bedroom setups to large family-room viewing.

In terms of core specs, the P7L is a 4K UHD LCD television with a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution and a native 60Hz refresh rate. TCL is using an HVA panel here, and the company says its upgraded Colorful Quantum Crystal material boosts light efficiency while delivering rich color. TCL rates it at 93% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is a key spec for viewers who care about vibrant movies, streaming shows, and modern HDR content.

HDR support is also broad, with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG all included. Brightness is listed at up to 400 nits typical on the five smaller sizes, while the largest 85-inch model is rated up to 450 nits typical. That should help HDR highlights stand out better, especially in rooms with some ambient light, though it’s still positioned below the ultra-bright premium categories.

TCL is leaning heavily into smart processing and AI-based enhancements with this model. The TV is powered by TCL’s AiPQ Processor and is being marketed with features such as an AI Cinematic Agent for picture tuning and an AI Gaming Agent paired with a Gamebar interface. For buyers, this points to easier access to gaming settings and on-screen controls, plus automatic adjustments designed to improve clarity, contrast, and color depending on what you’re watching or playing.

On the smart TV side, the TCL P7L runs Google TV, which brings a wide library of streaming apps and a more personalized content layout. It also supports Google Assistant for voice control and Google Cast for quick streaming from compatible devices. If you’re using Apple hardware, Apple AirPlay 2 is included, and Miracast compatibility is also listed for wireless screen sharing.

Connectivity looks solid for a value-focused 4K QLED. The P7L includes Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi‑Fi 5, along with an HDMI 2.1 port that supports eARC, which is important if you plan to pass higher-quality audio to a soundbar or AV receiver.

Audio is handled by integrated Onkyo speakers. TCL says the 43-inch through 75-inch versions use a 2.0 channel system, while the 85-inch model steps up to a 2.1 channel arrangement for added low-end presence. Design-wise, all sizes are described as having a slim, unibody frame with a bezel-less look, aiming for a more premium appearance on a budget.

As for availability and pricing, TCL hasn’t announced an exact release date or official cost yet. Even with the “Premium” label, the P7L is expected to land as a relatively affordable QLED TV in TCL’s lineup. What is confirmed is that it’s headed to Europe, since it’s already listed on TCL’s dedicated regional website.
