Tapestry Unveils New Feature to Clean Up Your Social Media Feeds

Tapestry, the innovative app that’s reshaping how we interact with the open social web, has just unveiled a compelling update designed to enhance your social media experience. With its new feature, aptly named Crosstalk, Tapestry now skillfully removes duplicate posts from your feed. This means that if you’re keeping tabs on someone across multiple social networks like Bluesky and Mastodon, you won’t have to endure seeing the same post repeated endlessly in your feed.

This cutting-edge feature debuts with the Tapestry 1.1 iOS update, a major enhancement following its initial release in February 2025. Tapestry is crafted by the visionary team behind the acclaimed third-party Twitter client, Twitterific, who were pioneers in coining the term “tweet” for Twitter posts. With Tapestry, they have channeled their expertise into the open social web, empowering users with decentralized, open-source platforms that challenge the traditional dominance of tech giants.

Tapestry serves as a comprehensive hub, enabling users to follow any posts shared through open technologies. This includes platforms like Bluesky and Mastodon, along with other open sources such as blogs, Tumblr, Reddit updates, YouTube videos, and podcasts. Users also have the liberty to amalgamate these diverse sources into personalized feeds.

One significant hurdle faced by multi-feed aggregation apps like Tapestry is the annoying repetition of content, as users tend to cross-post updates across different services like Mastodon, Bluesky, and Micro.blog. Tapestry’s latest update tackles this issue by intelligently filtering out duplicates, even if they’re not identical in content. For example, if a Mastodon post is condensed for Bluesky’s character limit, Tapestry will still identify and eliminate the duplicate.

Users have versatile options to manage duplicates. They can choose to hide them, “muffle” them for less visibility, or mute them entirely, so they’re removed from the feed. Tapestry accomplishes this by scanning for repetitive text from the same author across multiple platforms, not just relying on identical matches.

In addition to Crosstalk, the updated app introduces Quicklinks, a shortcut feature that lets users swiftly switch between up to four different timelines by long-pressing the feed icon. This customization is device-specific, allowing users to have distinct sets of favorites on their iPhone and iPad.

Furthermore, the update includes an improved button for refreshing feeds and navigating different feed locations, now conveniently accessible in the far-left menu. The app also offers customization of feeds through the Action menu, plus the added bonus of swapping the app’s icon among other features.

Tapestry is available as a free download on the App Store, with various subscription options including a monthly plan for $1.99, an annual plan for $19.99, or a lifetime pass for $79.99. Dive into the future of social networking with Tapestry and streamline your social media interactions.
