Activision and Toys for Bob have officially announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond, a brand-new installment in the fan-favorite platforming series. The purple dragon is finally preparing to return in a fresh adventure built for modern platforms, with the game currently planned for release in spring 2027.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond is in development for Windows PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. The announcement marks an exciting new chapter for one of gaming’s most recognizable platforming heroes, promising a larger, more ambitious adventure with a stronger focus on flight, exploration, and fast-paced movement.
The new game follows Spyro after he becomes stranded in a mysterious and unfamiliar realm. While searching for a way back home, he encounters a dangerous invading force known as the Scavs. Their arrival threatens to reshape the realm forever, forcing Spyro to step up, form new alliances, and defend a world on the brink of transformation.
