Level-5 is bringing back its lighthearted action RPG with Snack World: Reloaded, a full remake of Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold. Designed to feel fresh for longtime fans while also welcoming newcomers, this updated edition is currently in development for Windows PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. A release date hasn’t been revealed yet, but the announcement confirms a worldwide launch is planned.
Snack World: Reloaded aims to deliver a noticeably more immersive experience thanks to significantly enhanced graphics. Level-5 describes the visual upgrade as creating the sensation of stepping into a finely crafted diorama, with richer detail and a more polished overall presentation than the original.
Beyond the visual overhaul, the remake is also set to expand how players experience the story. A new game mode is planned that lets players take control of Chup, the anime’s protagonist, allowing the adventure to be experienced directly from his perspective. This new viewpoint is meant to add a different narrative flavor and give players another reason to dive back into the dungeon-crawling journey.
Gameplay is also getting attention, with major refinements to both controls and overall feel. Between the upgraded visuals, improved handling, and the added story perspective, Level-5 says the project is being developed on a scale that could almost make it feel like an entirely new title rather than a straightforward remaster.
With Snack World: Reloaded heading to Switch 2, PS5, and PC, the remake is positioned to reach a wider audience than before—whether you’re returning to the quirky world of Snack World or jumping in for the first time.
