Finding even a single DDR5 RAM stick for under $100 is tough these days, so scoring an entire CPU, memory, motherboard, and cooler bundle for less than that sounds downright impossible. But that’s exactly what one Reddit user claims happened thanks to an apparent pricing glitch in Newegg’s combo configurator.
According to a viral post from Reddit user u/KTsoFresh, the deal appeared while building a parts bundle through Newegg’s combo tool. After selecting an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X processor and a GIGABYTE B850M Eagle motherboard, the user added a Corsair DDR5 memory kit that was listed around $557. That’s when things got strange: the configurator showed a massive combo discount of nearly $800, dropping the total bundle price to just $87.
Expecting the price to correct itself at checkout, the user moved forward anyway. Instead of changing, the $87 total reportedly stayed the same in the cart. Even more surprising, the bundle also included a free 240mm AIO liquid cooler—turning the order into a four-component haul that would normally cost close to $1,000.
After placing the order, the user says they repeatedly checked the order status, expecting it to be canceled. But the status progressed to packaging, and the shipment eventually arrived with all the components included at the unbelievable sub-$100 price.
Once the post started gaining attention, the user tried recreating the same bundle to see if the deal was still active. This time, the huge combo discount was gone—reduced from roughly $800 down to about $100—suggesting the extreme price cut was either a short-lived error or quickly corrected.
Naturally, as the story continues to spread, more PC builders are likely to test the combo configurator hoping to land a similar bargain. Still, deals like this are extremely rare, and if it truly was a pricing bug, the chances of it happening again anytime soon are slim.
