Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealms have unveiled new gameplay footage for the Mortal Kombat 1 expansion “Khaos Reigns,” featuring the fierce character Sektor.
Sektor’s backstory in Fire God Liu Kang’s New Era gives her a unique edge. Raised deeply embedded in Lin Kuei culture, her father was the master armorer, while her mother was a prominent warrior. This upbringing endowed Sektor with unparalleled weapon expertise and combat skills. Recognizing her talents, Sub-Zero chose Sektor to be his most trusted lieutenant, sharing his grand vision for the future of the Lin Kuei. Under her command, the Lin Kuei must evolve, with no tolerance for those resistant to change.
The new gameplay trailer highlights Sektor’s lethal abilities, featuring advanced weaponry that includes a flamethrower, devastating missile strikes, and rocket thrusters that give her greater mobility and the ability to hover. The video also offers a glimpse of Sektor’s Animality—a ruthless finishing move where she transforms into a rhino to obliterate her opponents. Fans will be thrilled to know that Animalities are making a comeback and will be available as a free content update for all Mortal Kombat 1 players alongside the release of Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns.
The Khaos Reigns expansion is set to launch on September 24th, priced at $49.99 on modern platforms and $39.99 on the Switch. This expansion will be the exclusive way to obtain Kombat Pack 2, as the second character pack will not be sold separately. Additionally, there will be a bundle available that includes both Khaos Reigns and Kombat Pack 1.
Mortal Kombat 1 has been captivating gamers since its release in September 2023 and is available across PC, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PlayStation 5.
