Sega and Atlus have thrilled fans by announcing the launch of Persona 3 Reload on the Nintendo Switch, set for October 23, 2025. This eagerly anticipated remake of the beloved Persona 3 was revealed during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. However, some fans’ excitement has been tempered by the news that the physical edition will only be available as a Game-Key Card rather than a full cartridge. Additionally, the $35 DLC expansion “Episode Aigis: The Answer” won’t be bundled with even the premium edition by default.
For those eager to dive in, pre-orders have opened on the Nintendo eShop. Options include a $59.99 Standard Edition, a $69.99 Digital Deluxe Edition with an artbook and soundtrack, and an $89.99 Digital Premium Edition complete with DLC outfits.
A revelation from a Japanese retailer listing, shared by user NSuperGamerGuy, confirmed the physical release’s Game-Key Card format. Contrastingly, Sega’s upcoming Sonic Racing CrossWorld will enjoy a full cartridge release in early 2026.
The decision to exclude the “Episode Aigis” DLC has ruffled some feathers, continuing a pattern from the game’s earlier releases on other platforms, where the expansion was a separate purchase. Still, players can look forward to enhanced visuals, courtesy of the Switch 2’s updated hardware.
Originally launched in February 2024 on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and PC, this marks Persona 3 Reload’s debut on the Nintendo Switch. Previously, titles like Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal landed on the original Switch between late 2022 and early 2023.
Despite the Game-Key Card’s limitation and the expense for a complete experience, enthusiasts who choose to invest fully can purchase the DLC separately, reaching a total cost of $120 for the comprehensive Persona 3 Reload adventure. Players can expect to delve into the Dark Hour, challenge Shadows in Tartarus, and strengthen social links, maintaining the game’s core appeal.
