Samsung Unveils One UI 8 Watch Beta with Fresh Features for Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra

Samsung has unveiled the first public beta of One UI 8 Watch, bringing an array of exciting features to the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. This update introduces enhancements like a more intuitive home screen and a unique antioxidant index, offering users a chance to explore these innovations ahead of the full release.

Announced in June, the One UI 8 Watch is set for a July launch on all Galaxy Watch models from the Galaxy Watch5 and up. For now, the beta is available in the US and South Korea exclusively for Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, with plans to extend to other regions soon. Interested users can enroll in the One UI Beta Program for early access.

The update brings several health-focused features and some minor yet noteworthy improvements. One major change is the home screen, which now displays six frequently used apps, though this can be deactivated if desired. Users can also choose to view apps in an alphabetical list rather than a grid.

This 1.8 GB update introduces the “Now Bar,” showcasing current background activities, reminiscent of the feature on the Galaxy S25. Additionally, a “double-pinch” gesture has been added to execute a chosen function easily.

Among other enhancements, a new animation appears when charging the watch. The update also allows reminders to be prioritized with a star, making them appear at the top of the list. A simple wrist shake can dismiss notifications, and One UI 8 Watch cleverly stacks multiple notifications from the same app for easy access.

For those interested in health and fitness, the update consolidates new features like the Antioxidant Index, Running Coach, Vascular Load, and Bedtime Guidance, aiming to provide a comprehensive wellness experience.

The new features are a testament to Samsung’s commitment to enhancing user experience, promising a more connected and smarter lifestyle through these cutting-edge updates.
