Samsung is getting ready to put artificial intelligence right at the center of the kitchen with a new Bespoke AI refrigerator powered by Google’s Gemini AI model. The company has confirmed it will showcase the premium appliance at its First Look event ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the United States in January 2026, giving early insight into what Samsung’s next generation of smart home appliances will look like.
The headline feature is food recognition. The Bespoke AI refrigerator uses an internal camera to identify different items stored inside, helping the fridge “understand” what you have on hand. Samsung says this is the first home appliance in its category to incorporate Gemini, which should allow it to recognize more food products than previous models. In practical terms, that could mean fewer manual entries, less guessing about what’s in the fridge, and a more accurate view of your day-to-day inventory.
Once ingredients are recognized, Gemini is also used to suggest recipes based on what the refrigerator detects. That’s designed to make meal planning faster and reduce food waste by encouraging you to use items before they expire. Samsung adds that the AI assistant can help create shopping lists as well, making it easier to restock essentials or quickly identify what’s missing for your next grocery run.
Samsung is also expanding the same AI approach to its wine refrigerators. In that setup, Gemini can read bottle labels and use that information to maintain an inventory list. For collectors or anyone who likes keeping track of what’s in their wine storage without manual note-taking, this could be a particularly useful upgrade.
The AI refrigerator is part of a broader push as Samsung prepares to bring more AI-enabled home appliances to CES 2026. The company says it will also show updated versions of other products, including the Bespoke AI AirDresser, which is designed to smooth out wrinkles quickly. Another upgrade is coming to the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, with Samsung promising shorter wash-to-dry cycles and improved drying performance.
Cooling and home cleaning are also getting attention. Samsung’s WindFree Air Conditioner Pro will be able to direct air in multiple directions using two additional blades, aiming for more even airflow and comfort. Meanwhile, the upgraded Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra robot vacuum is expected to require even less human involvement during operation, leaning further into automated, hands-off cleaning.
With Gemini moving into the kitchen and beyond, Samsung is signaling that “AI home appliances” are shifting from basic smart features to more capable assistants that can recognize items, organize information, and help with everyday decisions. CES 2026 should reveal more about how these features work in real-world use, along with availability, pricing, and any subscription or ecosystem requirements that may come with Samsung’s AI-powered Bespoke lineup.
