Samsung has wrapped up its high-end lineup for the year with the Galaxy S25 FE, which currently sells for around $649.99. With that launch out of the way, attention is shifting to what’s next: the Galaxy S26 series and a long-rumored tri-fold phone that could arrive before year’s end. While the tri-fold buzz continues to build, fresh leaks are zeroing in on charging specs for the Galaxy S26 family.
Early information shared by a well-known tipster on X suggests the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge will stick with 25W wired charging, mirroring the approach used on the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Edge. Battery sizes, however, are expected to get a lift. The smallest Galaxy S26 model is rumored to jump from 4,000 mAh to 4,300 mAh, a roughly 7.5% increase, while the next-tier Galaxy S Edge could move to 4,200 mAh with a 300 mAh bump.
Even with these capacity gains, 25W wired charging would leave the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge trailing many rivals on top-up times, especially as larger batteries naturally take longer to recharge. That contrast could be even more pronounced if another rumor pans out: the Galaxy S26 Ultra is reportedly moving from 45W to 60W wired charging, creating a bigger performance gap within the lineup.
As for timing, the Galaxy S26 series is currently expected to debut in January 2026. Names and configurations can always shift before launch, but the early picture points to incremental battery upgrades for the core models alongside a meaningful charging boost reserved for the Ultra.
What this means for potential buyers is simple: expect better endurance across the mainstream S26 models, but don’t count on dramatically faster wired charging unless you’re eyeing the Ultra. If Samsung prioritizes cooler, longer-lasting batteries and software-optimized efficiency, the everyday experience could still improve—just not in the quick-charge department.
With a possible tri-fold arriving ahead of the S26 reveal, Samsung’s next hardware cycle looks busy. Keep an eye on new certifications and feature teases in the coming months as the January 2026 window approaches.
