RPCS3 Milestone: 70% of PS3 Game Library Now Playable on the Emulator

RPCS3, the popular PlayStation 3 emulator, has quietly hit an impressive new milestone: around 7 out of every 10 PS3 games are now playable with no major issues. That’s a huge leap from the early days of PS3 emulation, when the playable library was far smaller and many titles struggled with crashes, severe bugs, or unplayable performance.

The RPCS3 team has been steadily improving accuracy, performance, and overall stability, and those efforts are now clearly reflected in its game compatibility stats. While not every PS3 game works perfectly, the majority can now be played from start to finish with “playable” performance and without game-breaking glitches. For anyone who has been waiting for PS3 emulation to feel more like a practical way to revisit the console’s library, this progress is a big deal.

RPCS3’s compatibility page breaks games into categories so users can see exactly how well each title runs. Beyond the roughly 70% that are considered playable, there’s still a significant portion of the catalog that starts up but isn’t fully finishable yet. About 26.59% of games can run, but may stop you from completing them due to performance problems or bugs. Fewer than 3% only reach the intro, and less than 0.1% won’t boot at all. In other words, the “completely dead” list is now tiny—another sign of how far the emulator has come.

Development progress hasn’t just been about game fixes, either. RPCS3 has also expanded where it can run. One of the most notable recent upgrades is support for Windows-on-Arm64 devices, an option that was previously limited to Linux. Today, RPCS3 can run on major operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS, across both x64 and Arm64 architectures. It’s a meaningful step forward for compatibility, especially as Arm-based PCs continue to grow in popularity.

On top of that, a newer update also adds the ability to load PS3 disc games using ISO files, making it easier for users to manage and launch supported titles in a more streamlined way.

Overall, RPCS3’s latest progress shows how quickly PS3 emulation is maturing. With roughly 70% of the library now playable and ongoing improvements to platform support and features, the emulator is becoming an increasingly reliable way to experience a large portion of the PlayStation 3 era on modern hardware.
