Throughout 2024, Taiwan’s machinery industry experienced a rollercoaster year marked by unpredictability. While there was a vibrant demand for AI and semiconductor-related products and components, other product lines struggled to gain momentum. The sector is now turning its gaze toward emerging industries, with robotics prominently in the spotlight as a key driver of future growth. Industry leaders are increasingly emphasizing the significance of this field. The potential for robotics to transform the machinery landscape is evident. Yet, despite its promising prospects, Taiwanese companies have not yet reaped substantial financial benefits from robotics due to the current limited investment and development in this area. As we look to the future, the hope is that a strategic shift towards robotics could reinvigorate Taiwan’s machinery industry, unlocking new opportunities and driving the sector forward.
