Apple has just unveiled an exciting feature in its latest developer beta for iOS 18.4—introducing “Priority Notifications,” a clever enhancement driven by Apple Intelligence. This feature is designed to help users better manage their notifications by bringing more important alerts to the forefront, while minimizing interruptions from less critical notifications.
The innovation lies in creating a dedicated section on your iPhone’s Lock Screen specifically for these priority notifications. Leveraging the power of Apple Intelligence, your device will intuitively determine which alerts merit top placement, but rest assured you can still access all your notifications by simply swiping up.
Traditionally, your iPhone arranges notifications in a chronological order with the most recent at the top. With the introduction of this new feature, notifications deemed important will take precedence—even if they were received earlier than others. This ensures you won’t miss out on significant updates.
While this useful function starts off disabled, activating it is a breeze. Simply navigate to the Settings app, tap on “Notifications,” and explore the “Prioritize Notifications” section to toggle it on.
In addition to enhancing iPhone functionality, Apple plans to expand its Apple Intelligence to the Vision Pro through visionOS 2.4. Developers can dive into the beta version now, with a full public release anticipated in April. Further adding to its latest offerings, Apple also announced the forthcoming Apple News+ Food. This exciting section will enable users to easily search for and save recipes from a selection of existing News+ publishing partners.
These are just some of the ways Apple continues to innovate, making its products increasingly intuitive and user-friendly.
