Revolutionary Nothing Headphone (1): Boasting 80-Hour Battery, Immersive Spatial Sound, and More

Excitement is building as Nothing gears up to unveil its first over-the-ear headphones, the Nothing Headphone (1), on July 1. With a unique design that breaks away from conventional styles, these headphones are equipped with impressive features like long-lasting battery life, active noise cancellation (ANC), and spatial audio.

Nothing, known for its innovative TWS earbuds, is now venturing into over-the-ear territory with the Headphone (1). Leaked images and renders have already provided a glimpse of their distinct design, though the internal specs are more familiar.

The headphones boast 40mm dynamic drivers with nickel-coated diaphragms, tuned by the renowned British audio company KEF. Expect adaptive bass enhancement, spatial audio, and an 8-band custom EQ for a rich auditory experience.

Active noise cancellation is adaptive up to 42db, alongside a transparency mode for situational awareness. While specific microphone details and a dedicated noise-canceling processor aren’t confirmed, support for spatial audio, wear detection, and compatibility with AAC, SBC, and LDAC codecs make up for it.

With Bluetooth 5.3, these headphones promise seamless connectivity to Android and Windows devices through Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. Users can connect to two devices simultaneously and enjoy a “low lag mode” ideal for gaming. A personal sound profile can be created, and the headphones are trackable via Google Find My Device.

Battery life is a highlight, promising up to 80 hours of playback with ANC off and AAC enabled, thanks to a 1,040mAh battery. This drops to 35 hours with ANC on, but even with LDAC, you’ll get 54 hours without ANC and 30 hours with it on. A quick 5-minute charge is enough for 5 hours of playtime with ANC off.

The Nothing Headphone (1) will be compatible with the Nothing X app, allowing customization of settings through the app or directly on a Nothing phone. Measuring in at 173.85 x 78 x 189.25 mm and weighing 329 grams, it comes with a convenient case and will be available in three colors across Europe, Asia, and North America.

Nothing is set to make a splash in the audio world with these headphones, offering a blend of style, performance, and practicality. Keep an eye out as they hit the shelves soon!
