Retroid Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite pricing revealed, with pre-order discounts planned
Retroid has officially revealed pricing and memory configurations for its upcoming dual-screen Android gaming handhelds, the Retroid Pocket Duo and Retroid Pocket Duo Lite. With prices starting below $200, the new lineup appears designed to attract handheld gaming fans who want a dual-display experience without paying flagship-level prices.
The main Retroid Pocket Duo will launch in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Its regular retail price will be $269, but early buyers will be able to get it for $249 by using the pre-order code “DUO” at checkout.
That pricing puts the Pocket Duo in an interesting position. It is more affordable than some higher-end dual-screen Android handhelds, while still offering premium features such as OLED displays, a high refresh rate, and modern wireless connectivity.
The more affordable Retroid Pocket Duo Lite will be available in two versions. The base model comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for $149, while the upgraded version includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for $169. During the pre-order period, buyers can use the code “DUOLITE” to reduce the prices to $135 and $155, respectively.
The biggest difference between the two models is the display technology and overall performance package. The Retroid Pocket Duo features dual OLED screens, making it the more premium option. It includes a 5.5-inch top display with a 1920 × 1080 resolution and a 4.5-inch secondary display with a 1280 × 960 resolution. Both panels support a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, which should make games, menus, and emulation interfaces feel more responsive.
Powering the Pocket Duo is the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790 processor. It also includes a 6,000mAh battery with 27W charging, Android 16 out of the box, DisplayPort support, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4. These specifications suggest that Retroid is aiming the standard Pocket Duo at users who want a stronger all-around handheld for Android gaming, cloud gaming, and emulation.
The Retroid Pocket Duo Lite takes a more budget-friendly approach. Instead of OLED panels, it uses two 60Hz TFT screens. The top display measures 5.5 inches with a 1920 × 1080 resolution, while the lower display measures 4.2 inches with a 1280 × 960 resolution. While it does not match the standard model’s OLED quality or 120Hz refresh rate, it still delivers a true dual-screen layout at a much lower entry price.
The Lite model is powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6125 processor and includes a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging. It will ship with Android 15 and feature a USB 3.1 Type-C port, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0.
For handheld gaming fans, the Retroid Pocket Duo Lite could be especially appealing because of its low starting price. A dual-screen Android gaming handheld for as little as $135 during pre-orders may attract players interested in retro gaming, DS-style layouts, streaming, and Android-based emulation without investing in a more expensive device.
Meanwhile, the standard Retroid Pocket Duo looks better suited for users who want sharper visuals, smoother performance, and more modern features. Its dual OLED 120Hz screens and larger feature set make it the more premium choice, while still keeping the price under $300 with the pre-order discount.
Retroid has not yet confirmed when pre-orders will open or when the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite will begin shipping.
