Poe rolls out group chats that blend multiple AI bots

Quora’s AI hub, Poe, is rolling out group chats worldwide, turning its multi-model platform into a collaborative space where up to 200 people can work with more than 200 AI models in one conversation. That includes text, image, video, and audio generators—so a single thread can handle everything from drafting itineraries and designing visuals to composing music and creating clips.

The timing underscores a broader shift in AI from one-on-one interactions to shared workspaces. As other chatbots test group features in select markets, Poe’s global launch aims to make collaborative AI practical for families, friends, and teams right away.

What you can do with Poe group chats
– Plan trips together by combining deep search and research-focused models for fast, credible information.
– Build mood boards or campaign assets using multiple image generators in the same thread.
– Run brainstorming sprints while switching between writing, research, and code-assistant models.
– Play trivia or party games powered by creator-made quiz bots.
– Co-create audio and music, then iterate with text or image models for cover art and descriptions.

You can mix and match any AI models or creator-built bots in a single group, including options like Claude 4.5 Sonnet, ElevenLabs v3, ElevenLabs Music, Nano Banana, GPT-5.1, Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, o3 Deep Research, Sora 2 Pro, and Veo 3.1, among others. Poe also lets anyone build a custom bot and share it so groups can reuse tailored workflows.

Starting a group chat is simple: open Poe’s home screen on the web or app, create a group, invite participants, and pick the models you want to collaborate with. Conversations sync in real time across devices, so you can start on desktop and continue on your phone without losing context.

Quora says the feature has been in development for six months and will continue to evolve based on user feedback. The company believes group interactions mediated by AI are a vast, underexplored area, and that opening up custom bots for shared use will unlock new use cases the community discovers.

Why it matters
– Collaboration-ready AI: Move from solo chats to shared workflows that blend research, creativity, and production.
– Flexible model switching: Pull in the right model at the right moment without leaving the conversation.
– Cross-device continuity: Keep the group momentum going wherever you are.
– Community-driven innovation: Creator bots and custom setups make Poe a playground for new AI-powered experiences.

For anyone juggling projects across tools, Poe’s group chats bring the ecosystem into one place—helping teams, friends, and families turn ideas into outcomes faster.
