Pinterest’s New AI Restyle Tool Could Transform Your Room in Seconds

Pinterest Introduces AI Restyle to Help Users Redesign Rooms Before They Buy

Pinterest is making home design inspiration more interactive with a new AI-powered feature called Restyle. Now launching in beta in the U.S. and Canada, Restyle is designed to help users move beyond simply saving ideas and start visualizing how furniture, decor, colors, and styles could look inside their own homes.

The feature is powered by Pinterest Intelligence, the company’s AI system built to improve visual discovery, shopping recommendations, and search experiences across the platform. Pinterest says its AI foundation combines Nvidia Blackwell GPUs, Nvidia Dynamo, open-source models, and its own in-house technology.

With Restyle, users can upload a photo of a room and ask AI to transform it in different ways. For example, they can add wall art, swap furniture, change lighting, update paint colors, place plants, or test new accessories. Users can also bring in inspiration from images they have found on Pinterest and see how similar items might appear in their own space.

The tool also allows more precise editing. Users can tap individual objects in a room to replace them, remove them, or make changes. Someone could erase an old chair, test a new coffee table, or experiment with a different rug without physically moving anything.

Restyle can also generate complete room makeovers based on popular design aesthetics. Users can ask the AI to reimagine a space in styles such as bohemian, industrial, whimsical, dopamine decor, or other trending interior design looks. This makes it easier to compare different ideas before making a purchase or committing to a full redesign.

AI room design tools are not entirely new, but Pinterest has a major advantage: millions of users already use the platform to collect home decor ideas, furniture inspiration, color palettes, and renovation plans. By adding Restyle directly into the Pinterest experience, the company is making it easier for people to turn saved inspiration into real shopping and decorating decisions.

The feature could also strengthen Pinterest’s role in online shopping. When users can see how a sofa, lamp, artwork, or decor style might look in their own room, they may feel more confident buying products they have pinned or discovered through visual search. This helps bridge the gap between inspiration and purchase.

Pinterest previewed Restyle during its annual Pinterest Presents event, where it also introduced new advertising tools, including visual search ads and app promotion features. These updates show Pinterest’s broader push to combine AI, shopping, and visual discovery in a more seamless way.

Restyle is currently available as an early preview in the U.S. and Canada, with a wider rollout expected next month. For users who rely on Pinterest for home decor inspiration, the new AI feature could make room planning faster, more creative, and much easier to imagine before making changes in real life.
