Philips Introduces the OLED+959 Ambilight TV: A New Flagship Model with Enhanced Brightness

Home entertainment has just become more dynamic with the unveiling of Philips’ latest TV model, the OLED+959 Ambilight TV. As the new flagship of the 2024 lineup, this television offers a remarkable peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

Stepping up the immersive experience, the OLED+959 debuts a raft of improvements over its peer, the OLED+909. This includes the introduction of the advanced Ambilight Plus technology, which envelopes the screen with an expanded and more precise light halo for a striking visual expansion of the display.

Core to the unit’s performance is the 8th Gen P5 AI Dual Engine processor. This cutting-edge processor incorporates Ambient Intelligence V3, boosting HDR performance in well-lit rooms and refining image contrast. The AI Machine Sharpness V2 feature adds an extra layer of detail to visuals to enhance realism. Pushing the boundaries of brightness, the META Multi Booster algorithm enables the TV to achieve its maximum brightness potential of 3,000 nits.

Philips is dedicated to ensuring this model offers up-to-date tech, as seen with its Google OS integration and compatibility with Matter and Control4 Smart Home systems. Gamers will appreciate the decreased latency, now only 40ms compared to the 200ms of older models, alongside a novel Game Bar feature providing quick access to critical settings. Additionally, the set supports MEMC, 144Hz Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and is compatible with Dolby Vision Gaming.

The audio experience on the OLED+959 is elevated by Bowers & Wilkins, delivering an integrated 102W 5.1.2 channel sound system that surpasses the 3.1 channel speakers found in the OLED+909. This premium sound system is matched by a robust pedestal stand crafted from aluminum and steel, which underscores the TV’s high-end appeal.

Slated for release in Q3, the 65-inch Philips OLED+959 Ambilight TV is anticipated to be a centerpiece in contemporary home theaters. Details on additional sizes and pricing for the model are yet to be announced.

As the TV landscape continues to evolve, Philips remains at the forefront, delivering innovative features and sleek designs to cater to the discerning consumer seeking the ultimate viewing experience.
