Exciting news for fans of the Ghost of Tsushima series! Sucker Punch Productions has announced Ghost of Yotei, set to be an exclusive PlayStation 5 release in 2025. Although it doesn’t continue the story of Jin Sakai, it introduces a fresh narrative and a new protagonist, Atsu.
In a surprising move, the reveal comes in the midst of what was otherwise a rather uneventful PlayStation showcase, which lacked notable first-party titles and the much-anticipated Bloodborne remaster. But the announcement of Ghost of Yotei certainly stole the spotlight.
Set approximately 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei will transport players to the scenic Yotei region of Japan. Atsu, the new lead character, promises to bring a fresh perspective and captivating storyline. Although Jin Sakai won’t make a direct appearance, expect him to be referenced in this new adventure.
Exclusively developed for the PlayStation 5, the game is slated to come with enhancements for the anticipated PlayStation 5 Pro right out of the gate. Fans can look forward to new gameplay mechanics and the exciting possibility of animal companions, as hinted in the trailer.
