Persona 5: The Phantom X Version 4.8 Adds Kumi Katayama, Sports Fest Event, and Mailbox Upgrades
Persona 5: The Phantom X Version 4.8 is now live on iOS, Android, and PC, bringing a fresh wave of content for players diving into Atlus and Sega’s mobile and PC gacha RPG. The latest update introduces a new 5-star Phantom Idol, a limited-time school sports festival event, and several quality-of-life improvements designed to make daily play smoother.
The biggest addition in Version 4.8 is Kumi “Blitz” Katayama, a new playable 5-star Phantom Idol. Katayama is not just another powerful recruit; she also plays an important role in the story as the homeroom teacher of the protagonist and Motoha.
In battle, Kumi Katayama is an Electric-type saboteur who specializes in weakening enemies and creating openings for the team. Her kit focuses on multi-target debuffs, reducing enemy defenses, inflicting Dizzy, and gradually damaging Down points. This makes her especially useful in difficult encounters where controlling the enemy and breaking through defenses can turn the tide of battle.
For players looking to strengthen their roster, Katayama’s arrival gives Persona 5: The Phantom X another tactical option, particularly for boss fights and challenging Metaverse content.
Version 4.8 also launches the Tour de Force Sports Fest, a limited-time event themed around the beginning of a new school semester. The event features mini-games and side quests that allow players to earn rewards while taking part in a more lighthearted side of the Persona 5: The Phantom X experience.
To celebrate the new semester, players can also receive special avatar frames and profile card designs through the in-game mailbox. These cosmetic rewards give fans a new way to personalize their profiles and mark the latest chapter in the game’s ongoing live-service schedule.

One of the most practical improvements in Persona 5: The Phantom X Version 4.8 is the upgraded mailbox system. Players can now mark or favorite individual pieces of mail after reading them. This helps prevent important claimed rewards or messages from being accidentally removed when using the Delete All Claimed option.
