News has surfaced that OPPO’s forthcoming third-generation tablet may be introduced as the Pad3 Pro instead of the expected Pad3. This new branding is reportedly due to an upgrade to the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor’s fastest variant.

Initially, speculation suggested the “OPPO Pad3” would essentially be a rebranded OnePlus Pad 2. However, well-known leaker Digital Chat Station counters this, indicating significant differences between the two devices. Unlike the OnePlus Pad 2, which already utilizes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the Pad3 Pro is expected to feature the Leading Version of the same processor. This upgrade includes a Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.4GHz compared to the 3.3GHz core in the OnePlus Pad 2.

Furthermore, the Pad3 Pro may boast up to 16GB of RAM, 1TB of internal storage, and will run ColorOS instead of OxygenOS. According to the latest updates, it is likely to receive the ColorOS 15 version as a software upgrade, suggesting it could be arriving sooner than previously anticipated.
