Oppo may be preparing one of the biggest battery smartphones yet, with a massive 12,000 mAh capacity that could push mobile battery life to a new level.
Smartphone makers are under pressure to offer more value as rising memory and storage costs continue to affect the mid-range phone market. In many cases, newer devices are becoming more expensive while offering only small upgrades, or even a few compromises, compared to previous models. One practical way brands can still impress buyers is by increasing battery capacity, a feature that users immediately notice in everyday use.
Oppo appears ready to take that idea further than most. A new Oppo smartphone has reportedly appeared in a certification listing from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology under the model number PNC110. The most eye-catching detail in the listing is its battery: a rated capacity of 11,640 mAh, which would likely be promoted as a typical 12,000 mAh battery when officially announced.
If accurate, this would make the upcoming Oppo phone stand out in a market where large batteries are becoming a major selling point. A 12,000 mAh smartphone battery could potentially deliver multiple days of use on a single charge, depending on the processor, display, software optimization, and user habits. For people who travel often, game for long periods, stream video, or simply dislike charging every night, this kind of battery capacity could be a major advantage.
The device would also significantly outpace many current large-battery smartphones. Compared with some of Oppo’s existing high-capacity models, the rumored 12,000 mAh battery would represent a major jump, offering around 20% more capacity than one of the company’s already large-battery devices and roughly 50% more than some premium Oppo models sold in China.
Beyond the battery, the certification confirms that the phone will support 5G connectivity and dual-SIM functionality. However, important details such as the chipset, display size, charging speed, camera hardware, design, software version, release date, and pricing remain unknown.
The timing makes sense. Chinese smartphone brands have been competing aggressively to deliver bigger batteries without dramatically increasing device prices. Battery upgrades are often more appealing to mainstream users than minor camera or performance improvements, especially in affordable and mid-range phones. A phone with a 12,000 mAh battery could give Oppo a strong marketing advantage if the company manages to keep the device reasonably slim, efficient, and competitively priced.
Of course, a battery this large may come with trade-offs. The phone could be thicker and heavier than standard models, and charging such a huge battery may take longer unless Oppo equips it with fast-charging technology. Still, for buyers who prioritize endurance above all else, those compromises may be worth it.
For now, Oppo has not officially announced the PNC110 smartphone. But with certification already appearing, the device could be moving closer to launch. If it reaches the market with a true 12,000 mAh battery, it may become one of the most talked-about long-battery-life 5G smartphones of the year.
