OnePlus Teases New Tablets Coming to India Later This Year

OnePlus Teases Bigger Plans for Its Tablet Lineup After OnePlus Pad 4 Launch in India

OnePlus appears to be preparing for a stronger push into the Android tablet market in 2026. After launching the OnePlus Pad 4 in India earlier this year, the company has now hinted that more tablet-related announcements could arrive before the end of the year.

The OnePlus Pad 4 made its debut in India in April 2026 as a premium Android tablet aimed at users who want a large-screen device for productivity, entertainment, gaming, and everyday multitasking. It features a 13.2-inch display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and a massive 13,380mAh battery, positioning it as one of the brand’s most powerful tablet offerings so far.

Now, OnePlus India’s Head of IoT Business, Varun Jha, has suggested that the company has “exciting plans” for its tablet portfolio later in 2026. While he did not reveal specific product names, launch timelines, or hardware details, the comment indicates that OnePlus is not slowing down in the tablet segment.

There has also been speculation that OnePlus could introduce a more compact tablet in India. Previous rumors pointed toward the possibility of a smaller model designed for users who prefer a lightweight and portable device, similar in size to compact tablets such as the iPad mini. However, when asked about such a product, Jha noted that OnePlus is currently seeing stronger consumer interest in larger displays.

That response suggests the company may continue focusing on big-screen tablets, especially as users increasingly rely on tablets for work, streaming, online learning, note-taking, and gaming. Larger displays also make more sense for accessories such as keyboards and styluses, helping tablets serve as laptop alternatives for some users.

OnePlus is also preparing to expand the accessory ecosystem around the OnePlus Pad 4. The company has confirmed that the Smart Keyboard for the tablet will be available in India in the coming weeks.

According to the official product details, the OnePlus Pad 4 Smart Keyboard features a full-size 78-key layout and 1.5mm key travel, which should offer a more comfortable typing experience for users who want to turn the tablet into a productivity device. However, OnePlus has not yet announced the price of the keyboard accessory in India.

With the OnePlus Pad 4 already offering flagship-level specifications, the arrival of the Smart Keyboard could make it more appealing to students, professionals, and creators looking for a powerful Android tablet with productivity-focused features.

For now, OnePlus has not confirmed whether its next tablet announcement will involve a new model, additional accessories, or software-focused improvements. Still, the company’s comments make it clear that its tablet strategy in India is far from complete.

As demand for premium Android tablets continues to grow, OnePlus could use the second half of 2026 to strengthen its position with new devices, improved accessories, and a broader ecosystem built around large-screen productivity and entertainment.
