OnePlus 16 Debuts With Massive 1TB Storage and Three Stylish Finishes

OnePlus 16 reservations open in China with 1TB storage option, new colors, and flagship upgrades

OnePlus is preparing to bring its next flagship smartphone to market, and the OnePlus 16 is now available for reservation in China. The upcoming device will succeed the OnePlus 15, which debuted in October 2025, and early details already point to a premium phone focused on performance, battery life, and high-end camera hardware.

The company has revealed the OnePlus 16 design, color options, and storage variants ahead of its full launch. At first glance, the phone keeps a familiar look from the previous generation. The rear panel features a square camera island positioned in the upper-left corner, housing three cameras along with an LED flash. It appears OnePlus is refining its flagship design rather than moving in a completely new direction.

The OnePlus 16 will be offered in three color choices: Tomorrow’s Starlight, Dark Forest, and Mars Masterpiece. The Tomorrow’s Starlight model has a bright, elegant finish and uses what OnePlus describes as a silk glass process. This finish is designed to help reduce fingerprints, making the phone look cleaner during daily use.

OnePlus is also giving buyers several memory and storage configurations. The listed options include 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, 16GB RAM with 512GB storage, and a top-end 16GB RAM with 1TB storage model. The 1TB version should appeal to users who store large amounts of photos, videos, games, and apps directly on their device.

While the company has confirmed reservations in China, it has not yet announced an official launch date. Global availability also remains uncertain. Current signs suggest the OnePlus 16 may have a limited release, with no clear indication that it will arrive in Europe, North America, or India.

Rumored specifications make the OnePlus 16 sound like a major upgrade. Leaks suggest the phone could be powered by Qualcomm’s next flagship mobile processor, expected to launch as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. This chip is rumored to be based on a 2nm manufacturing process and may support next-generation LPDDR6 memory, which could deliver faster performance and better efficiency.

Battery life may be one of the biggest highlights of the OnePlus 16. Reports claim the device could pack a massive 9,000mAh battery, a significant increase over the 7,300mAh battery used in the OnePlus 15. If accurate, this would make the OnePlus 16 one of the most battery-focused flagship phones on the market.

The camera system may also receive a major boost. The OnePlus 16 is rumored to feature a 200MP main camera with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor. This could improve detail, low-light performance, and overall image quality, especially for users who rely on their phone for photography and video recording.

With a familiar premium design, multiple high-capacity storage options, a possible 9,000mAh battery, and a rumored next-generation Snapdragon chipset, the OnePlus 16 is shaping up to be an ambitious flagship. For now, the phone is confirmed only for China, but more details should emerge as OnePlus moves closer to the official launch.
