Nvidia Shatters Milestones: Revenue Surges Twofold in 2024, Blackwell at the Helm

Nvidia has shattered its previous financial records, reporting an astounding 114% increase in revenues for the fiscal year 2024. Achieving a total revenue of $130.5 billion, this remarkable growth is primarily fueled by the soaring demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and Nvidia’s groundbreaking Blackwell GPU.

Significantly contributing to this surge was the Data Center segment, which alone generated a staggering $35.6 billion in revenue in the fourth quarter, marking a 93% increase from the previous year. The entire year saw this segment reach new heights with a total revenue of $115.2 billion, up by an impressive 142%.

Nvidia attributes much of its success to strategic relationships with top cloud service providers, including AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, which amplified the demand for AI capabilities. Jensen Huang, the visionary founder and CEO of Nvidia, highlighted Blackwell’s pivotal role. According to Huang, “Demand for Blackwell is amazing as reasoning AI adds another scaling law — increasing compute for training makes models smarter and increasing compute for long thinking makes the answer smarter.”

Throughout the year, Nvidia focused on large-scale production of its Blackwell AI supercomputers, which played a crucial part in driving billions in sales within just the first quarter.

The gaming and AI PC sectors also shone brightly, with revenues reaching $11.4 billion, reflecting a 9% growth compared to the previous year. This boost underscores the ever-growing interest and investment in gaming and AI-enhanced personal computing.

While operating expenses rose by 48%, largely due to heightened compensation and benefits, as well as engineering and infrastructure costs for new product launches, Nvidia’s net profit still climbed by a remarkable 130% to reach $74.2 billion.

Guided by strong leadership and groundbreaking technology, Nvidia has positioned itself as a powerhouse in the AI domain, clearly underlining its commitment to driving innovation and growth in the tech industry. As Nvidia continues to push boundaries, its success story becomes an inspiring testament to the potential of AI and innovation in shaping the future.
