NVIDIA Reportedly Delays GeForce RTX 4070 Super Orders Until End Of September 1

NVIDIA Pushes GeForce RTX 4070 Super Orders to Late September

All NVIDIA partners will need to exercise patience as they wait for the arrival of the GeForce RTX 4070 Super chips. The GPU giant is currently holding off on shipping these highly sought-after chips following a brief supply after launching the RTX 4070 with GDDR6 memory amidst a GDDR6X shortage.

Reports from Chinese Board Channels reveal that NVIDIA has bounced all pending orders for the RTX 4070 Super. This delay means that manufacturers will have to wait until the latter part of the month to receive their shipments. While the precise cause of this delay remains unclear, one channel provider mentioned that NVIDIA won’t resume shipments until the last week of September. Consequently, manufacturers will need to manage their existing and limited inventory of the RTX 4070 Super, as its demand remains sky-high.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super continues to fly off the shelves, especially in the Korean DIY market. It consistently ranks among the top 10 selling GPUs on platforms like Amazon, Newegg, and various retail stores. Launched in January at a price of $599—an increase of just $50 over the RTX 4070’s original MSRP—this slightly enhanced version offers over 20% more CUDA Cores and other minor improvements, achieving a performance boost of 18-20%.

Currently, the RTX 4070 Super is readily available across most retail outlets. However, this delay might lead to a temporary scarcity of the card’s various variants, perhaps even causing a price hike. This situation is expected to be short-lived as NVIDIA prepares to shift its focus towards the upcoming RTX 50 series, codenamed Blackwell. The newer series will likely feature the high-end RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 models, which are currently in their final design stages. It is anticipated that the RTX 50 series will come with higher TDPs compared to their predecessors, including the RTX 5070, which will eventually succeed the RTX 4070 and its Super variant.

As the market awaits the arrival of new NVIDIA offerings, the excitement among gaming enthusiasts and tech aficionados continues to build, signaling an intriguing period ahead in the world of cutting-edge graphics technology.
