Nubia Z80 Ultra flaunts Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 power in fresh official images

Nubia is gearing up for a busy October 2025 in China. Alongside the RedMagic 11 Pro, the brand will unveil the Nubia Z80 Ultra on October 22, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship already teased in official images.

The Z80 Ultra leans into an all-screen aesthetic. Teasers point to a flat AMOLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and an under-display front camera, continuing the series’ pursuit of a notch-free, immersive viewing experience. Expect slimmer bezels than before and an improved in-display fingerprint reader for faster, more reliable unlocks.

On the back, the new design showcases a triple-camera setup with a revised layout compared to the previous generation. The system is expected to be headlined by a 50 MP primary camera with a 35 mm equivalent focal length, joined by a periscope telephoto offering up to 50x digital zoom and an ultra-wide unit built around a 1/1.55-inch sensor. Together, the trio should deliver versatile shooting across everyday scenes, distant subjects, and dramatic wide landscapes.

Power users will appreciate the substantial 7,100 mAh battery, paired with 90 W fast charging to cut downtime between sessions. Combined with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, the Z80 Ultra aims to deliver flagship-grade performance for gaming, photography, and multitasking.

Nubia has confirmed three colorways at launch: Phantom Black, Condensed White, and the eye-catching Starry Sky Edition. All three finishes are expected to roll out globally shortly after the Chinese debut.

With its blend of cutting-edge silicon, a high-refresh AMOLED with an under-display selfie camera, upgraded imaging hardware, and a large battery, the Nubia Z80 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the more compelling Android flagships of the season. More official details are expected in the lead-up to the October 22 event, including full specifications and availability.
