The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, a refined version of the Nothing Phone (2a), is finally making its debut in Europe after its initial launch in July. This upgraded smartphone brings several enhancements over the standard version released in March, promising a more satisfying user experience.
Initially, it’s important to note that the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus doesn’t imply a larger device, despite its ‘Plus’ designation. Both the Phone (2a) and the Plus model feature a crisp 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, ensuring vibrant visuals and smooth scrolling. Yet, they diverge significantly in certain aspects. While the Phone (2a) sports a 32MP front camera only recording in 1080p at 30fps, the Plus model steps up its game with a 50MP front camera capable of capturing footage in stunning 4K at 30fps. Both versions retain the dual 50MP rear cameras, which is a notable feature.
Performance-wise, the Phone (2a) Plus stands out with its Dimensity 7350 Pro processor, offering enhanced speed and efficiency compared to the Dimensity 7200 Pro found in the Phone (2a). Customers have the flexibility to choose between 8GB and 12GB RAM options with both models; however, the Plus model limits its storage to a generous 256GB, whereas the standard version offers both 128GB and 256GB variants.
Battery life is robust in both models, thanks to a substantial 5000mAh capacity. Charging speed, however, is a differentiating factor—the Plus charges slightly faster at 50W, compared to the 45W fast wired charging in the standard model.
Color options reflect subtle sophistication in both versions. The Phone (2a) Plus is available in Black and Gray, while the standard model offers a wider array of hues, including Black, Blue, White, and Milk.
Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus have commenced, with the 12GB RAM edition currently available in Europe. The pricing is competitive across different regions: £399 in the UK, €429 in Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain. Those in the Nordic region will find it priced at €459, while Switzerland residents can purchase it for CHF399. Buyers in Eastern Europe, France, Italy, Ireland, and Portugal will spend €449.
