Noctua Unleashes the All-Black NF-A12x25 G2 Chromax for $34.90, Bringing Silent Performance Without the Beige Aesthetic

Noctua has expanded its popular 120mm fan lineup with a new color option that many PC builders have been waiting for: the NF-A12x25 G2 Chromax.Black. It’s the same acclaimed second-generation NF-A12x25 G2 that debuted last year, but now it arrives in an all-black finish designed to blend seamlessly into modern, stealthy builds.

The original NF-A12x25 earned a reputation as one of the best PC fans ever made thanks to its strong cooling performance, high efficiency, and refined acoustics. Noctua followed that success with the NF-A12x25 G2, bringing a new design aimed at pushing airflow and radiator performance even further—though until now, it was only available in the brand’s signature brown-and-beige colors. With the Chromax.Black release, builders who prefer a clean black theme no longer have to compromise on aesthetics to get Noctua’s top-tier performance.

While the new Chromax.Black model doesn’t change the fan’s core specifications or engineering, it still carries the full set of upgrades that made the G2 stand out. Noctua’s second-gen design uses a progressive bend impeller paired with a centrifugal turbulator hub, built to improve airflow while reducing turbulence and tonal noise. The goal is simple: deliver better cooling at the same noise level compared to the first-generation fan.

According to Noctua, the NF-A12x25 G2 can improve temperatures by up to 3.5°C on radiators at comparable acoustic levels, which makes it especially appealing for liquid-cooling radiators, AIO setups, and high-performance air coolers. It also retains key features enthusiasts associate with this fan family, including the extremely tight 0.5mm tip clearance and Sterrox LCP blades. That minimal gap helps reduce air leakage around the blade tips, improving static pressure efficiency—one of the reasons the fan performs so well not only as a case fan, but also in restrictive environments like radiators and dense heatsinks.

Pricing for the NF-A12x25 G2 Chromax.Black starts at $34.90 for a single fan. Noctua is also offering a dual-fan bundle (Sx2-PP) priced at $64.90, aimed at builders who want a matched pair for push-pull configurations or balanced case airflow setups.

The launch adds a long-requested black option to one of Noctua’s most celebrated fan designs, giving performance-focused builders a cleaner way to match their system’s look without giving up the cooling and acoustic refinements that made the NF-A12x25 series so widely recommended.
