Nintendo is giving buyers one more reason to pick up the Nintendo Switch 2 before its upcoming price increase by introducing a fresh, limited-time bundle that adds a full game at no extra cost compared to the new MSRP.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to get more expensive on September 1, 2026. Nintendo’s recommended retail price will rise from $449.99 to $499.99, a $50 jump (about 11%). The company points to higher production costs as the driver behind the increase, tied to ongoing DRAM pricing pressure. Until then, the hybrid console is expected to remain available through the summer, including at brick-and-mortar retailers.
To help soften the impact of that fall price hike, Nintendo is rolling out a new package called the Choose Your Game Bundle at the beginning of June. It includes a standard Nintendo Switch 2 plus a download code that lets you select one of three Nintendo games. The options are Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia. The bundle price is $499.
That pricing is the key hook: at $499, you’re effectively paying what the console alone will cost after September 1, while also receiving a game of your choice. For anyone already planning to buy a Switch 2 and one of these titles, this bundle is positioned as a better-value way to buy before the MSRP increases.
Nintendo says the Choose Your Game Bundle will only be available for a limited time. It’s also just the third game bundle released for the Nintendo Switch 2 so far. The console previously appeared at launch in a bundle with Mario Kart World, and later in a bundle featuring Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Unlike some past Nintendo handheld bundle strategies, the company hasn’t been creating special console designs tied to these bundles, keeping the hardware itself the standard model.
