MSI Boasts Enhanced Gaming Performance with Ryzen 9 9950X3D Using Custom Optimizations

MSI has unveiled how gamers can extract even more performance from their systems with the powerful AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 3D V-Cache CPU using their proprietary features integrated into the X870/X870E motherboards. While this top-tier processor isn’t lacking in power, who wouldn’t want to squeeze every last bit of performance for that gaming edge?

MSI claims that with their latest 800-series BIOS-specific enhancements, gamers can experience significant performance boosts. Their motherboards, particularly the X870/X870E models, are tailored to get the best out of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D when combined with the latest BIOS and Chipset Driver. With those updates, users can expect up to a 10% increase in performance. It’s important to note, however, that these improvements are game-specific and won’t affect every title or application in the same way.

Under MSI’s testing, the latest BIOS (version 1A27) paired with the Chipset Driver 7.01.08.129 showed promising boosts: a 10% increase in Metro Exodus, an 8% uplift in Far Cry 6, and a 2% better performance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. However, as these benchmarks are conducted by MSI in controlled environments, real-world results may vary depending on individual setups.

For test configurations, MSI used a combination of their MEG X870E GODLIKE motherboard, GeForce RTX 5080 16G GAMING TRIO OC GPU, and blazing fast Galax DDR5-7200 memory, seamlessly working together under the Windows 11 OS.

Moreover, MSI suggests installing the AMD Application Compatibility Database driver when using the AGESA 1.2.0.3 BIOS to avoid any “unknown device” issues in the Device Manager. Their BIOS tool suite, which includes Memory Try It!, High-Efficiency Mode, and X3D Gaming Mode, further refines system performance. Activated together, these features can yield up to a substantial 14.5% performance increase in games like Monster Hunter Wilds and notable gains in titles such as Far Cry 6 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, especially when comparing new memory speeds.

While memory-specific tweaks like boosting from 7200 MT/s to 8000 MT/s may not enhance every game (some titles might not show any improvement), others like Cyberpunk 2077 and Metro Exodus do reveal slight performance benefits.

This exciting development from MSI offers gamers and PC enthusiasts an opportunity to push boundaries and optimize their machines’ performance, turning high-performance setups into gaming powerhouses. If you’re looking to get the most out of your Ryzen 9 9950X3D, MSI’s latest updates and features might just be the key to unlocking your CPU’s hidden potential.
