Motorola Moto G Max launches in Brazil with 200MP camera, AMOLED display, and Android 16
Motorola has introduced the Moto G Max in Brazil, adding a new affordable 5G smartphone to its local lineup. While the name is new for the Brazilian market, the device closely matches the Moto G87 that appeared earlier this year, including the same design, dimensions, and key hardware specifications.
The Moto G Max is available in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In Brazil, it is priced at BRL 2,519.10, which is roughly $488. Motorola is currently selling the smartphone through its official Brazil store.
At the heart of the Moto G Max is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM for everyday multitasking, app switching, streaming, and casual gaming. The phone includes 256GB of built-in storage, although there is no microSD card slot for storage expansion.
One of the biggest highlights of the Moto G Max is its camera setup. The phone features a 200MP main rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization, which should help improve low-light shots and reduce blur in photos and videos. It is joined by an 8MP ultrawide camera for capturing landscapes, group photos, and wider scenes. On the front, the device carries a 32MP selfie camera for video calls, social media content, and portraits.
The display is another strong point. Motorola has equipped the Moto G Max with a large 6.8-inch AMOLED screen featuring a 2772 x 1272 pixel resolution. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and animations feel smoother. It also reaches up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, which should help with outdoor visibility under bright sunlight. For durability, the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.
Battery life is handled by a 5,200mAh battery, giving the Moto G Max enough capacity for a full day of typical use. The phone supports 33W wired charging, which is useful for quickly topping up the battery when needed.
On the software side, the Moto G Max runs Android 16 out of the box. Motorola has not yet confirmed how many major Android updates or security patches the device will receive.
Motorola has also packed in several durability and entertainment-focused features. The Moto G Max includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and multiple resistance ratings, including IP66, IP68, and IP69 protection against dust and water. It also carries MIL-STD-810H certification, suggesting added resistance against tougher environmental conditions.
Despite its large screen and battery, the Moto G Max remains relatively slim and light. It measures 7.38mm thick and weighs 183 grams, making it easier to handle than many large-display smartphones.
Overall, the Motorola Moto G Max is positioned as a feature-rich mid-range smartphone for buyers in Brazil who want a high-resolution 200MP camera, a bright AMOLED display, Android 16, solid durability, and a large battery without moving into flagship pricing.
