Mitsubishi Electric and Daikin Ramp Up U.S. Manufacturing as Data Center Cooling Demand Surges

Mitsubishi Electric is expanding its U.S. manufacturing footprint with a new cooling-equipment production operation in Mason, Ohio, as demand for data center infrastructure continues to surge across the country.

The move positions the company closer to major American customers that are building and expanding data centers at a rapid pace. As artificial intelligence, cloud computing, streaming services, and enterprise digital workloads place heavier demands on server facilities, reliable cooling systems have become one of the most critical parts of modern data center design.

The new Ohio-based operation, MEHITS US, will manufacture and test cooling equipment at Mitsubishi Electric’s Mason campus. By producing these systems domestically, the company aims to reduce delivery times, improve customer support, and respond more quickly to the growing needs of the U.S. data center market.

This expansion comes as global manufacturers increasingly shift production closer to end users.
