After the first Minimal Phone gained attention for its stripped-back approach and e-ink display, the second-generation model is taking a different route. The Minimal Phone 2 replaces the e-ink panel with an OLED screen, a move that should make everyday use smoother, brighter, and more practical while still keeping the device focused on minimalism.

However, buyers should understand the fine print: this is expected to work through OpenBubbles, which usually requires either a Mac for activation or a paid monthly option. In other words, it may not be a native, built-in Apple messaging experience out of the box.
