Meze Audio Debuts Handcrafted Strada Headphones Featuring Magnetic Snap-On Ear Pads

Meze Audio is turning heads again with the Strada, a new hand-crafted closed-back, over-ear headphone built for listeners who want powerful, highly detailed sound in a design that’s made to last. Blending premium materials with a service-friendly build, the Strada aims to be the kind of headphone you can enjoy for years rather than replace after normal wear and tear.

At the heart of the Meze Audio Strada are 50 mm dynamic drivers tuned to cover a wide 5 Hz to 30 kHz frequency range. Meze Audio also claims extremely low distortion, with THD rated under 0.1% at 1 kHz. For everyday flexibility, the Strada comes with a 40-ohm impedance and a sensitivity rating of 111 dB SPL/mW at 1 kHz, which means it can reach satisfying volume levels even from lower-powered sources like smartphones.

One of the more interesting engineering touches is the PVD-coated beryllium on the torus around the cone driver. Meze Audio says this added stiffness is designed to improve transparency, helping the Strada deliver clearer detail and a more controlled presentation.

Visually, the Strada leans into a distinctive premium look. The drivers sit on a magnesium frame finished by hand with multiple layers of metallic green paint. That frame is paired with golden-brown Macassar ebony ear cups, giving the headphones a warm, natural contrast to the metallic structure.

Comfort and practicality are also central to the design. The ear pads attach magnetically, making them easy to remove and replace without fuss. The pads use memory foam with PU leather covers, while the inner ear cup lining is made with Alcantara, a polyester-blend fabric that Meze Audio says helps reduce heat buildup during longer listening sessions. The headband includes soft, ventilated padding and offers continuous length adjustment for a more tailored fit.

Where the Strada really separates itself from many competitors is its long-term ownership approach. Meze Audio designed the headphones to be easily disassembled, allowing owners to replace worn or broken parts themselves. For anyone tired of treating premium headphones like disposable gear, a fully serviceable build can be a major selling point.

The Meze Audio Strada weighs 330 g (11.64 oz.) and connects via a 3.5 mm Y-cable. Pricing is set at an MSRP of $799.

For music lovers searching for high-end closed-back headphones that combine hand-crafted wood, thoughtful comfort features, strong drivability from everyday devices, and a repair-friendly design, the Meze Audio Strada is positioned as a compelling new option in the premium headphone space.
