Building on the success of the Lucid Air sedan, the company is stepping into the competitive electric SUV market, and the Gravity is making waves with its extraordinary features and performance metrics.
Boasting an impressive Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rated range of up to 450 miles (724 km), the Lucid Gravity is capturing the attention of electric vehicle enthusiasts. This remarkable achievement is made possible through the use of advanced lithium-ion batteries developed by Panasonic Energy. These batteries are strikingly compact, up to 40% smaller than traditional counterparts, which allows for a significantly roomier interior, enhancing comfort and cargo space—offering up to a staggering 900 gallons (3,400 liters) of storage.
The Panasonic batteries utilize state-of-the-art cylindrical lithium-ion cells of the 2170 format, which deliver a remarkable energy density of 800 Wh per liter. This collaboration between Lucid and Panasonic marks a pioneering step in electric vehicle technology, as the Gravity becomes one of the first EVs to harness this innovative power source. Potential customers can currently pre-order the luxurious Lucid Gravity Grand Touring model, priced at $94,900 (€91,700) in the US before taxes. For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, Lucid plans to introduce a “Touring” version later this year, with a price tag just shy of $79,900 (€77,000) before taxes.
