Lenovo Pro 9n launches as a powerful MacBook Pro rival with RTX Spark, OLED display, and up to 128GB RAM
Lenovo has introduced the Pro 9n, a high-performance laptop built for users who need serious power in a portable design. Unveiled at IFA 2026, the new machine is now available for preorder, with shipping expected to begin on October 16.
The Lenovo Pro 9n is clearly aimed at creators, developers, AI professionals, and power users who want desktop-class performance without giving up portability. With Nvidia RTX Spark configurations, a bright OLED display, and up to 128GB of unified memory, Lenovo is positioning this laptop as a strong alternative to premium workstation notebooks and Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup.
Pricing for the Lenovo Pro 9n starts at $2,999.99. The entry-level model includes an RTX Spark N1X chip with an 18-core Grace CPU and a 5120-core Blackwell RTX GPU. It also comes with 32GB of unified memory and 512GB of storage.
That starting price puts the Pro 9n above the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra, which begins at $2,599. However, Lenovo offers more base memory, as Microsoft’s competing model starts with 24GB of RAM.
For users who need maximum performance, Lenovo offers a higher-end Pro 9n configuration with the full 20-core RTX Spark N1X chip, a 6144-core GPU, 128GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage. This version is priced at $6,099.99.
By comparison, a 14-inch MacBook Pro equipped with an M5 Max chip, 128GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage costs $6,699. That makes Lenovo’s top configuration around $600 less expensive while offering the same memory and storage capacity.
One of the standout features of the Lenovo Pro 9n is its display. The laptop includes a 15.3-inch OLED panel with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, 100% P3 color coverage, and up to 1,100 nits of peak brightness. It also supports variable refresh rate technology up to 165Hz, making it suitable for smooth gaming, video editing, animation work, and high-refresh creative workflows.
Despite its powerful hardware, the Pro 9n remains relatively portable. Lenovo says the laptop weighs 3.64 pounds and features a slim aluminum chassis. It also packs a large 92.5Wh battery, which should help support demanding workloads away from a desk.
Connectivity is another strong point. The Lenovo Pro 9n includes two USB4 ports, one USB-A port, HDMI 2.1, a headphone jack, and an SD card reader. That port selection should appeal to photographers, video editors, creators, and professionals who prefer built-in connectivity without relying heavily on dongles.
Lenovo is also pushing the Pro 9n as an AI-ready laptop. With up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance and up to 128GB of unified memory, the machine is designed for local AI inference, AI development, AI agents, content creation, and advanced productivity tasks. This makes it especially interesting for users who want to run AI workloads directly on their laptop rather than depending entirely on cloud services.
The combination of Nvidia RTX Spark hardware, a high-refresh OLED display, large memory options, and a premium chassis makes the Lenovo Pro 9n one of the most ambitious Windows laptops announced for 2026. It is not a budget machine, but for professionals who need portable performance for AI, creative work, and gaming, it could be one of the most compelling MacBook Pro alternatives of the year.
