Early images suggest Sony is preparing a “Glass” finish option, but there’s still some uncertainty over the official name. It may launch as Glass Purple or Glass Violet, and until Sony confirms it, both labels are in the mix.
What the leaked photos do make clear is the design direction: a sleek, glossy look across most of the earbuds and the charging case, creating a premium, reflective style that stands out from more typical matte finishes. Even the USB adapter shown in the leak appears to follow the same glossy theme. To keep everyday comfort and durability in mind, Sony seems to have added matte coating in areas that experience the most wear, such as the inner portions of each earbud where they sit and are handled most often.
Beyond the new colorway, this release is expected to stick closely to the current model’s specifications. That means buyers should be getting the same core hardware, including 8.4 mm drivers designed for detailed, punchy sound, along with active noise cancellation for quieter listening in busy environments. Battery life should also remain familiar, with up to 24 hours of total playback when ANC is turned off, using the charging case for top-ups.
Since this looks like a color refresh rather than a new generation, the price is also expected to stay the same. If Sony follows its usual strategy, the new Glass Purple/Glass Violet version should land at around $239, matching existing options.
