iPhone 17 lineup with new USB-C fast charging and Dynamic 60W adapter boosting charging speeds significantly.

iPhone 17 Rockets to 50% in 20 Minutes with New Dynamic 60W USB‑C Charger

Apple just made charging your next iPhone a lot quicker. The new iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max can now reach 50 percent in about 20 minutes when plugged into a compatible USB‑C power adapter. That’s a notable jump from previous models, which typically needed around 30 minutes to hit the halfway mark.

To support the faster top-up times, there’s a new accessory on offer: the Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max. It’s slim and designed to briefly spike up to 60W, while sustaining a 40W output due to its compact build. As usual, the charger is sold separately and is priced at $39 through Apple’s retail and online channels.

You’re not locked into Apple’s adapter to see the benefits. Apple says other higher‑wattage USB‑C chargers that meet the required specifications will also fast charge the iPhone 17 lineup. Real‑world testing will tell us how often and how long the Dynamic Power Adapter hits those 60W spikes, so keep an eye out for deeper charging benchmarks.

One caveat: the ultra‑thin iPhone Air doesn’t get the upgraded wired charging speeds. It stays in line with the previous generation, reaching about 50 percent in roughly 30 minutes. That’s still reasonable, but clearly behind the iPhone 17 family’s improved pace.

Preorders for the entire iPhone 17 lineup begin September 12, with deliveries starting September 19. If fast charging matters to you, the new models—especially when paired with a capable USB‑C adapter—are a meaningful step forward.
