Husqvarna has introduced a fresh line-up of electric bicycles in the European market, dubbed the Grand Pather series. These touring e-bikes are engineered to deliver robust performance on both paved roads and more challenging terrain. Key among their features are varying suspension forks and stout 29-inch Schwalbe tires specifically chosen to enhance comfort when traversing bumpy landscapes.
The array includes the Grand Pather 5 and Grand Pather 6 models, both of which are equipped with the formidable 85 Nm Yamaha PW-X3 motor and a long-lasting Simplo 720 Wh battery pack. The suspension forks distinguish the two, with the Grand Pather 5 boasting the SR SUNTOUR Mobie34-D 2CR front fork and the Grand Pather 6 featuring the Mobie34 2CR variant. Each fork provides an 80mm travel. Additionally, bicycle enthusiasts can appreciate the 12-speed transmission with the Grand Pather 6 sporting a Shimano Deore XT groupset, and the Grand Pather 5 outfitted with an SRAM NX Eagle set.
The entry-level Grand Pather 4 caters to those seeking a slightly less powerful model. It is fitted with the Yamaha PW-S2 motor that produces 75 Nm of torque and pairs with a 630 Wh battery. This e-bike comes with an SR SUNTOUR NX1 Boost LO front fork, similar to its siblings in travel distance, and features an 11-speed setup complemented by a TEKTRO RD-M550 rear derailleur.
All the models in the Grand Pather series come with a Yamaha Display C LC screen equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, as well as practical accessories like mudguards, an MIK HD carrier system, and a kickstand. Designed with versatility in mind, the e-bikes are available with an aluminum frame in either step-through or step-over configurations across four distinct sizes. On average, they weigh approximately 25.7 kg (around 56.7 lbs).
In terms of pricing, the Husqvarna Grand Pather 4 is available at €3,999, the Grand Pather 5 at €4,499, and the Grand Pather 6 at €4,999. Interested customers can find them at select dealers within the EU. The availability of these e-bikes in markets outside of Europe has yet to be confirmed.
With this recent launch, Husqvarna continues to expand its presence in the e-bike market by providing consumers with versatile, high-end options suitable for various terrains and cycling conditions.
