Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 Unveiled: Pioneering 2.3Mb/s Lossless Audio and Smart Dynamic Noise Cancellation

Huawei has unveiled its latest innovation, the FreeBuds Pro 4, setting a new benchmark in the wireless earbuds market. These earbuds boast being the first in the world to incorporate Huawei Sound and have achieved Hi-Res Wireless Audio certification. They’ve also taken the lead in lossless audio transmission, offering a striking 2.3 megabit per second (Mb/s) rate to deliver pristine sound quality, although there are specific conditions to achieve this impressive performance.

Visually reminiscent of their predecessors, the FreeBuds Pro 4 come with a slightly more compact build and a captivating Silver String design featuring the new Huawei Sound logo. This logo isn’t just for show; it’s backed by Huawei’s promise of delivering remarkably “authentic” and immersive audio through cutting-edge TrueSound driver and planar diaphragm technologies. These upgrades allow the earbuds to produce bass as low as 14 hertz (Hz) and utilize a “triple-adaptive EQ algorithm” that dynamically adjusts based on how they’re positioned in your ears.

Beyond just sound, these earbuds have been finely tuned by music conservatory experts to feature sophisticated Intelligent Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) supported by “three-layer” memory foam ear-tips. The earbuds are tailored for transmitting high-resolution audio at 48kHz/24-bit fidelity, which is a step above what most high-end wireless earphones typically offer, but this feature is optimized when paired with the Mate X6 foldable smartphone.

While HarmonyOS NEXT isn’t mentioned for global users, these earbuds support simultaneous connections to dual devices and come encased in a “durable and impact-resistant” case accented with durable ceramics. This adds to the FreeBuds Pro 4’s long-lasting battery life, which can reach up to 33 hours per charge.

Despite their promising new features, the FreeBuds Pro 4 still run on the rather dated Bluetooth 5.2 standard and offer an IP54 rating, providing minimal resistance to water and dust. The case, unfortunately, lacks its own water-resistance certification.

As of now, Huawei has not disclosed worldwide pricing for the FreeBuds Pro 4, although earlier versions, like the FreeBuds Pro 3, are available online for about $184.90. These earbuds will be available in classy shades of white, green, and black, offering something for everyone interested in state-of-the-art audio technology.
