Google Dampens Hopes for Samsung Phones Using Dimensity Flagship Chipset Amid Exynos 2500 Yield Concerns

Recently, speculation has been swirling around the tech world about Samsung potentially equipping its Galaxy S25 series with MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9400 chipset. This buzz originated from a statement previously found on Google’s DeepMind website, which seemed to hint at such a collaboration. However, the statement has since been revised, removing any mention of Samsung’s mobile devices.

Initially, Google’s DeepMind praised MediaTek as a leading chip design company that has capitalized on their AlphaChip to leap forward in developing advanced chips with enhanced power, performance, and efficiency. Some interpreted this as a signal that Samsung might embrace MediaTek’s technology for its future flagship smartphones. Yet, according to confirmation received by Android Authority from Google’s DeepMind team, this interpretation was incorrect. The line suggesting that the Dimensity Flagship 5G chipset would be used in Samsung phones was identified as an error.

Adding to the intrigue, Business Korea highlighted ongoing challenges faced by Samsung with its Exynos 2500 chipset, including yield issues. This has cast doubt on the possibility of the Exynos 2500 making it into the Galaxy S25 series. While speculation continues about Samsung’s ultimate chipset choice, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has already been linked to the Galaxy S25 in various leaked benchmarks. All eyes are on Samsung, as enthusiasts and experts alike eagerly await confirmation of the company’s next move in its smartphone lineup.
