Garmin has introduced an exciting update to its Forerunner 570 and 970 smartwatches, now available through its Beta Program. This update, Beta Version 12.58, not only rectifies several bugs but also packs in a dozen new features, adding significant value to the devices.

These two models were launched back in mid-May, and since their release, have received minor patches. However, no significant enhancements were included until now. The new beta software leapfrogs through multiple version numbers, signifying a substantial upgrade.

According to Garmin, those enrolled in the Beta Program can now access this update. If your smartwatch hasn’t prompted you yet, you can manually check for updates through the menu.

Beta Version 12.58 enhances the user experience with innovative features like a bedtime recommendation in the evening report, a stocks widget, and track run daily suggested workouts among others. It also introduces spectator messaging and a calculator app. For sports enthusiasts, additional motorsports activities are now enabled.

The update resolves various issues, including a glitch on watch faces and problems with breathing variation displays. It also fixes several issues related to notifications, call volume adjustments, and more, ensuring a smoother user experience.

New improvements make the breathing variations graph clearer and resolve instances of sluggish UI. There’s also support for a gentle, early alarm based on sleep quality, an automatic rest timer in strength activities, and new custom focus modes. Cyclists and runners will appreciate the power guide for cycling activities and the ability to start a race from the morning report.

Overall, this update enhances both utility and functionality, making these devices even more appealing to fitness enthusiasts and tech-savvy users alike.
