Garmin GPS Watches Get a Major Upgrade Packed With New Features and Fixes

Garmin Lily 2 Active Update Brings Bug Fixes, New Alerts, and Better Reliability

Garmin has rolled out fresh software updates for the Lily 2 Active smartwatch, bringing several important fixes and usability improvements to the stylish GPS-enabled wearable. The latest releases, Software Version 5.11 and Software Version 5.12, build on the earlier Version 5.10 update, which improved cold-weather performance and addressed a second-hand ghosting issue.

With these new updates, Garmin is focusing on stability, accuracy, and everyday convenience. One of the most notable fixes resolves a crash that could occur during heart rate broadcasting. This is especially useful for users who rely on the Lily 2 Active to share live heart rate data with compatible fitness equipment or training apps during workouts.

The update also introduces support for new target alerts, giving users more flexibility when tracking fitness goals. Target alerts can help with pacing, effort, heart rate zones, and other activity-based metrics, making the watch more useful for guided workouts and performance tracking.

Garmin has also corrected conversion errors between pounds and kilograms. This fix should improve the accuracy of weight-related data, especially for users who switch between measurement systems or sync data across Garmin’s health and fitness platforms.

Another issue addressed in the update involved wind speed, which could incorrectly display as 0 MPH. With the fix in place, weather-related information should now appear more accurately on the Lily 2 Active.

Software Version 5.12 is expected to be available for all Garmin Lily 2 Active devices through Garmin Express and the Garmin Connect Mobile app. If the update has not appeared automatically, users can manually check for the latest software package using either platform.

The full list of changes since Software Version 5.10 includes support for new target alerts, a fix for crashes during heart rate broadcasting, corrected pound-to-kilogram and kilogram-to-pound conversions, a fix for wind speed showing as 0 MPH, resolved compliance issues related to the Snowball card, and text translation updates from Version 5.11.

Overall, this Garmin Lily 2 Active software update may not introduce a major redesign, but it delivers meaningful improvements that should make the smartwatch more stable, accurate, and dependable for daily wear, fitness tracking, and outdoor activity monitoring.
