As excitement builds for the One UI 6.1 release, Samsung continues to deploy the One UI 6.0 (Android 14) update to its range of eligible smartphones and tablets. Among these devices, the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 have been receiving incremental rollouts worldwide. Following updates for the Galaxy A52, the Galaxy A72 is also experiencing a wider release of the latest Android version.
Users of the Samsung Galaxy A72 in certain Middle Eastern and European countries, as well as in India, can now update their devices to the latest version of Android. The firmware version for this update is identified as A725FXXU6EXB3, and it comes packed with the January 2024 security patch for added protection.
With One UI 6.0 and the Android 14 upgrade, Galaxy A72 owners can look forward to a suite of enhancements and features. These include an overhauled Quick Panel, intelligent airplane mode functionality, new home screen widgets for the Camera and Weather apps, better watermarking choices in the camera, innovative two-handed drag-and-drop for media and data across apps, advanced photo and video editing options, and an Auto Blocker security feature that thwarts connections from unknown USB devices.
For a convenient update experience, users can navigate to the Settings application on their Galaxy A72, proceed to ‘Software update’, and select ‘Download and install’ to initiate the OTA update. Alternatively, those preferring a manual installation can obtain the necessary firmware files through an online archive and apply the update using a Windows PC.
It’s worth noting that Android 14 is slated to be the last major operating system update for the Galaxy A72. However, the device could also receive the One UI 6.1 update before the end of its update cycle. Details on One UI 6.1 and future updates for the Galaxy A72 are expected in the upcoming weeks.
