Far EasTone Telecommunications is gearing up to bring Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellite communication services to Taiwan, with a launch timeline targeted as early as the beginning of 2027. Company president Chee Jing shared the outlook following the start of negotiations with Amazon, signaling a major step toward adding low Earth orbit satellite connectivity to FET’s portfolio.

Project Kuiper is designed to deliver high-speed, low-latency broadband from space, complementing terrestrial 5G networks and expanding coverage to hard-to-reach areas. For Taiwan, that could translate into more reliable connectivity for remote communities, island regions, maritime operations, and critical infrastructure, while also strengthening network resilience during emergencies.
