At Anime Expo 2025, Konami unveiled new footage of their forthcoming horror game, Silent Hill f. This captivating reveal was not officially released online, yet it still managed to surface thanks to an attendee who captured and leaked the footage, despite restrictions on filming.
The leaked video was uploaded on YouTube, showcasing an early glimpse of the game. This snippet featured what appeared to be an in-engine cinematic sequence, providing a brief look at the protagonist, Shimizu Hinako, moving along a path towards a shrine, where players would be prompted to pray. However, specific gameplay details remained scarce.
Reddit user SOGxTheKing shared insights from the event, highlighting a discussion with the game’s director, composer, and writer. They described the event: “I was there, and though pictures or videos weren’t allowed, they only showed a 30-second piece of gameplay. It involved Hinako walking along a path, reaching a shrine, and being prompted to pray. Afterwards, there was a cutscene where Hinako conversed with a boy about their childhood. When she turned around, he vanished.”
Set in 1960s Japan, Silent Hill f takes place in the isolated town of Ebisugaoka, where players will navigate the challenges faced by Shimizu Hinako as she battles manifestations of her suppressed fears. The game introduces four characters: Hinako, Iwai Shu, Nishida Rinko, and Igarashi Sakuko.
Producer Motoi Okamoto has previously mentioned that the combat system promises to be unique, with a notable focus on melee action and intense encounters.
Scheduled for release on September 25, 2025, Silent Hill f will be available on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and PC. With the unauthorized leaks circulating online, Konami may soon act to remove the footage.
