Xpeng XOS 5.9.5 Update Improves Tesla Supercharger Charging, Range Accuracy, and Safety Features
Xpeng is rolling out its XOS 5.9.5 software update, bringing a useful set of improvements for drivers who regularly depend on fast charging, especially on Tesla’s Supercharger network. The latest vehicle software focuses on better charging compatibility, improved battery management, more accurate driving data, and several comfort and safety upgrades.
One of the biggest highlights of XOS 5.9.5 is improved performance at Tesla V3 and V4 Superchargers. For Xpeng owners who travel often or rely on public fast-charging stations, this update could make charging sessions smoother and more reliable. The company says the update enhances compatibility with these Superchargers while also improving overall charging behavior.
Cold-weather charging also gets attention in this release. Xpeng has upgraded the thermal management system for the high-voltage battery, which is designed to help speed up charging when temperatures are low. Since electric vehicle batteries can charge more slowly in cold conditions, better battery temperature control may make a noticeable difference during winter road trips or early-morning charging stops.
The update also improves the accuracy of the remaining range estimate. More precise range predictions are important for EV drivers, particularly when planning longer journeys or deciding when to stop for charging. Xpeng has also refined the way battery health information is shown, giving drivers a clearer view of their vehicle’s battery condition over time.
Energy consumption reporting has been corrected as well. Previously, some drivers may have noticed inconsistencies between the most recent trip data and the energy usage shown for the past 100 kilometers, or 62 miles. With XOS 5.9.5, Xpeng says these discrepancies have been resolved, making the vehicle’s efficiency statistics more dependable.
Beyond charging and battery improvements, XOS 5.9.5 introduces updates to Xpilot driver assistance features. The adaptive cornering assistant now supports manual adjustment, giving drivers more control over how the system behaves. Cruise control has also been improved, allowing the vehicle to accelerate back to the set target speed more quickly after a lane change. This should make highway driving feel more natural and responsive.
Xpeng has also added a practical safety feature for the trunk. If the vehicle detects a key inside the cabin when the trunk is closed, the liftgate will automatically reopen and alert the driver. This can help prevent accidental lock-ins or situations where a key is left behind inside the vehicle.
Another new convenience feature is Quiet Remote Climate Mode. When using the Xpeng app to precondition the cabin, the system can now operate more quietly. This may be especially helpful in residential neighborhoods, apartment complexes, or late-night and early-morning situations where reducing noise matters.
Emergency features have also been improved. In the event of a serious accident, the vehicle can automatically place an emergency call. If there is a battery-related emergency, the system will show the locations of the manual door releases, helping occupants exit the vehicle more quickly and safely.
