Big batteries look set to go global, but top-tier memory may stay China-only
Fresh leaks point to a clear split in how upcoming Android flagships will be treated outside China. On the bright side, massive batteries appear to be making the trip worldwide. On the downside, the most generous RAM and storage configurations may not.
The OnePlus 15 is rumored to ship globally with the same 7,300 mAh battery used in the Chinese model. That’s a welcome change for international buyers and contrasts with whispers around the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra, which may not mirror their domestic battery specs abroad.
A similar story is shaping up for Oppo’s next flagships. The Find X9 and Find X9 Pro are expected to keep their large silicon-carbon batteries in global markets, matching the Chinese capacities of 7,025 mAh and 7,500 mAh respectively. Silicon-carbon cells are touted for higher energy density, which should translate to longer runtimes without a bulkier frame.
Where things get less exciting is memory and storage. A new leak from Paras Guglani suggests the standard Find X9 will top out internationally at 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, despite 16 GB/1 TB options being available in China. The Find X9 Pro is reportedly facing the same limitation, missing out on the Chinese market’s 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage variants in its global release.
What this means for buyers:
– Expect excellent battery life from both the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro worldwide, with capacities on par with the Chinese models.
– Don’t expect the highest-tier memory and storage configurations outside China; 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage may be the ceiling for global units.
– If battery life is the priority, these devices look promising. If you need 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, importing a Chinese model might remain the only option.
In short, global fans should gain the same endurance as users in China, but those chasing the most premium RAM and storage specs may be left wanting. As always, treat these details as preliminary until official announcements land.
