Electronic Arts Reveals Epic Conclusion to Star Wars Jedi Series

The Star Wars Jedi game series is set to become a trilogy, with Electronic Arts confirming the development of a final installment by Respawn Entertainment. This exciting news was disclosed during EA’s investor relations day on September 17.

The saga began with “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” which hit shelves in November 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. This debut entry was a major success, selling over 10 million units within a year and earning multiple award nominations. In June 2021, it was also made available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.

Following the first game’s success, EA and Respawn Entertainment announced a sequel, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” which launched in April 2023 for the PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows platforms. As of September 17, this sequel has also been released for the Xbox One and PS4.

While the third game in the series remains untitled and without a release date, EA’s president of Entertainment and Technology, Laura Miele, reassured fans that Respawn Entertainment is at the helm of its development. However, Stig Asmussen, the director of the first two games, has since departed Respawn to start his own game studio. Despite this, he originally envisioned the series as a trilogy.

When the third and concluding chapter in the Star Wars Jedi saga does arrive, players can expect Cal Kestis to return as the protagonist. The timing of its release might coincide with the advent of next-generation gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft, which could mean it might skip the PS4 and Xbox One platforms.

This announcement adds a new layer of anticipation for fans eagerly following Cal Kestis’s adventures across the galaxy. Stay tuned for more updates on the grand finale of the Star Wars Jedi trilogy—an interstellar journey you won’t want to miss.
